Client Name: Art House/Toronto Film School
Objective: A family of marks for Art House - a friendly yet luxurious theatre space that is artsy, welcoming, and casually chic. Catering to cultured, media-savvy, social adults, the theatre focuses on independent, alternative film.
Design Approach: While the golden yellow is friendly and welcoming, the simple palette maintains a chic, streamlined appearance. The crisp, minimal aesthetic speaks to a comfortable luxury; it is high-end, yet accessible. The graphic mark is made up of a collection of lines forming both geometric shapes as well as letters – the design spells A R T, with an H at the end for House. The letters are there if you look for them, but obscure enough that if you don’t, the shapes stand on their own as a testament to the artistry behind modern, alternative film.
